Eco printing is the process of printing shapes and colors directly from natural elements on sub-straights such as fabric and paper.  It is often called “botanical printing”.  Students will use actual botanicals that produce dye to create their very own one-of-a-kind scarf.  Prior to the workshop participants will acquire at home specific supplies and plant material to use in their designs, all with guidance from Kathleen. A list of supplies required will be received upon registration. A step-by-step process will be presented while completing their scarf during the workshop.  Students will view samples of eco printed textiles, review plant materials that traditionally produce successful results, discuss color permanence techniques, and more. The class will take place in one 5-hour session with a break for lunch.  Upon registration students will purchase a kit that includes the scarf and other materials.
