Woodblock printmaking is a centuries old technique developed originally in Japan for textile and artistic purposes.  Woodblock prints are a perfect fit for holiday card making.  Students will learn the step-by-step process of developing their image on the block, learning how to safely use the tools to carve their block, rolling ink out on the block and hand-printing the image on Japanese paper.  Each student will create an edition of 10 cards with envelopes.
