Woodblock printmaking is a centuries old technique developed originally in Japan for textile and artistic purposes.  This workshop is designed for all levels.  Those who have experience are welcome to come create work and hone skills, beginners will learn how to select and use carving tools, the variety of wood and linoleum choices for carving and paper.  The step-by-step process from developing the image on the block to printing a small printed edition will be covered.   Each student will create an edition of prints on handmade paper.

  • Kathleen's home studio is located in her basement.  She has a large very calm dog who will quietly greet you and door then go lay down.  Students are encouraged to bring drinks, snacks and lunch and any other items such as gloves and smocks.
